Our client is a marketing leading organisation who are going through an expansion phase and are seeking an additional staff member for their small, friendly Buying Team

Specialist Knowledge

  • The successful candidate will have experience within a similar role, strong IT , excel skills and an excellent command of both oral and written English to correspond with overseas suppliers
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject

Purpose of the Role

  • Undertake a wide range of operations and tasks to support the sourcing, development and purchasing of household textiles
  • Liaise with suppliers in Pakistan, China, India & Bangladesh and others to build and maintain relationships and help ensure the smooth running of the department, purchasing and supply chain process

Role Objectives

  • Liaise daily with suppliers to progress the development of product , maintenance of a cost price database and handle receipt/placement of purchase orders
  • Monitor and track new product development for pricing and sampling including critical path maintenance
  • Attend pre-production meetings and contribute product data
  • Liaise with design, merchandise , sales, packaging & QC Departments
  • Tracking of price negotiation, production of reports and close liaison with Head of Supply Chain
  • Liaise with suppliers and imports department on movement, tracking and consolidation of containers
