This is a great opportunity to join an existing team within a well-established and reputable MSP based in South Manchester who are looking to recruit a 2nd Line IT Technician.

The Company act primarily as the outsourced IT department for other small companies, installing network solutions and offering support to SMEs in every market sector, covering the Cheshire, Manchester and Northwest region.

Areas of specialism to be covered by the 2nd Line IT Technician:

Microsoft Server

Microsoft products inc Office 365

VMWare and Virtualisation

Ruckus Wireless Solutions

3CXVoip Telephony Installations

Hardware installation

Backup Solutions

Broadband/Leased line/Fibre provisions

Remote users and multi-site clients

Office relocation and expansion projects

The role of 2nd Line Support IT Technician will be approximately 40% office based, offering strong 2nd line support and assistance their clients so the ideal candidate must have good, all round technical knowledge of Microsoft platforms, a polite telephone manner and the ability to liaise with non-technical individuals in order to solve issues. Also, assisting the sales team with technical specification for hardware projects for installation at client’s sites.

The other 60% will be customer facing and will require the candidate to attend at client sites to deal with issues, rectify any IT problems and install hardware at a client’s office.

Essential Requirements for the role of 2nd Line Support IT Technician:

  • Windows Server AD administration experience
  • Hyper-V and/or VM Ware administration experience
  • Exchange 2016 / Office 365 Mail
  • Knowledge of IP Telephony
  • Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to logically understand, diagnose and problem solve
  • Own transport
  • High level of personal presentation

Desired Requirements for the role of 2nd Line Support IT Technician:

  • Server installation experience
  • SQL administration
  • Apple MAC knowledge
  • Cisco switching and firewall installation
