Job Description

Our client, a successful manufacturer is looking to expand and strengthen their purchasing department with and experienced stock/materials/purchasing assistant

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Purchasing Manager in purchasing and supply chain
  • Maintain stock levels to meet customer demand
  • Create tender documents including budgeting costs etc
  • Purchasing, supplier selection, negotiation and contract management
  • Proactively manage cost savings
  • Management of stock and inventory
  • Obtain quotes/prices for new and existing materials and services
  • Provide support to the Production Team.

Experience required for the role:

  • Purchasing, Buying or Supply Chain experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors is preferable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, positive attitude, adaptable, flexible
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Understanding of inventory management – stock checks etc.
  • MRP experience
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and pro-active and interpersonal skills
  • Competent on IT systems
