Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Technologist in the home furnishings industry, supplying the UK high street retail and e-commerce sectors. You will support the senior team by managing quality performance across a large range of products for specific brands, ensuring on time, compliant delivery to fully meet or exceed internal and customer expectations

This role will include close liaison with internal colleagues, external overseas suppliers and will focus on relevant support to their largest high street customer.

The Role

•Working alongside colleagues to risk assess new products for suitability to end use.

•Support the Design and Development teams prior to product sign off with technical advice and risk assessment

•Attend and contribute to pre-production handover meetings as required

•Ensure timely completion and issue of correct product specifications to our supplies and manage any further amendments to ensure suppliers are clear and compliant on product requirements.

•Chasing suppliers for samples in a timely manner, updating the relevant critical path

•Management of relevant fabric, product and packaging samples arriving into the business

•Sample sealing, checking strike/bulk fabrics and gold seals to ensure they are correct to requirement and issuing relevant comments to the supplier.

•Following up on all sample issues, ensuring comments have been actioned in bulk

•Inspection of bulk fabrics and gold seal products submitted for approval, completion and issue of the relevant sealing documents to suppliers.

•Become a senior stake holder in our critical path team, maintaining and analysing necessary data to ensure timely customer launches.

•Provide regular updates with internal and external stake holders on sample activity

•Hold suppliers accountable for sampling, testing and inspection dates including ‘right first time’ sample submission within agreed deadlines.

•Deal quickly and effectively with queries to and from suppliers, customers and internal stake holders & follow up to ensure critical path date is maintained and accurate

•Control, evaluate and approve pre-shipment inspection reports

Candidate Requirements

•Experience in a similar role

•Confident to make decisions and take responsibilities, yet unafraid to seek advice.

•A 360 thinker able to see the bigger picture when problem solving.

•A strong communicator with ability to present confidently via email, audio conferencing and face to face with internal stake holders, suppliers and customers.

•A quality based qualification would be a distinct advantage.
