Our long established well respected school based close to Manchester City Centre is looking to recruit an Office Manager to work Term Time only
Role and Responsibilities for the position of School Office Manager:
  • PA to the Headteacher, providing a professional and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Headteacher
  • Diary management – arranging meetings, liaising with staff, parents, Governors
  • Typing, filing, handling telephone calls, emails and correspondence
  • Drafting correspondence with or without instructions and establishing filing systems
  • Quality control of important documents and policies
  •  Attend meetings to take minutes as needed, eg staff meetings, annual review meetings
  • Fronting reception desk: receiving visitors, dealing with enquiries, answering the telephone and taking messages for staff
  • Monitoring access to the premises via entry gates, greeting all visitors and making sure each visitor signs in and is issued with a security ID badge
  • Producing letters to parents including half termly class newsletters
  • Ensuring that the website is up-to-date and that all letters are available on the website
  • Conducting some HR administration including liaising with the Finance Office and the HR department with regard to time sheets, leave of absence slips and staff absence and organising external training courses
  • Admissions and pupil information administration
  • Liaising with parents and School Attendance Officer re pupil absences
  • Updating punctuality daily on SIMs and producing half termly attendance statistics for Headteacher
  • Ordering all stock , including annual classroom orders and for distribution of stock on arrival
  • Dealing with all incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls
  • Ordering and distributing First Aid supplies for First Aid boxes. Ensuring Accident Report forms are completed. Liaising with parents when pupils need to be collected. Collecting children to attend appointments and take them to Reception
  • Assisting in the organisation of events and parents evenings.
