The Role of Retail Outlet Marketing Coordinator is to take responsibility for the marketing and day to day operations of the retail stores for this leading specialist clothing that has stores throughout UK

Key to the position is working with the marketing departments to increase brand awareness and turnover through window campaigns, events in store, POS and visual merchandising, so experience of RETAIL MARKETING, RETAIL HEAD OFFICE AND VISUAL MERCHANDISING IN STORE are all essential for this position

The Role of Retail Outlet Marketing Coordinator is as follows:

Campaigns and Marketing:

  • Oversee all marketing activity for the brands
  • Manage smooth rollout of offers and installations across all stores to make sure that teams are fully briefed
  • Manage critical path for each season to make sure that everything is delivered on time
  • Understand retail specific SMU product or new product areas being bought solely for retail to maximise sales in-store
  • Take an inquisitive approach to gaining and broadening knowledge of product range, product technologies, market knowledge and competitors
  • Use proficient copywriting skills in order to communicate key messages in-store, online etc

Communication and Travel:

  • Work with merchandising and planning to ensure that they have product ready for offers and installations
  • Work with all brands to ensure all stores have relevant and workable window campaigns and highlights on in store brand stories
  • Communicate with all stores on a regular basis, ensuring clear and thorough understanding at all times of the brand message and that guidelines have been followed
  • Make store visits on a regular basis, both with the Retail Support Manager and the Retail Marketing Administrator to keep in touch with their own stores as well as to research the competition and other stores for ideas
  • Attend relevant exhibitions on a ad-hoc basis

Head Office Support:

  • Point of contact for all store employees
  • Support all employees on any queries they have, ensuring all queries are answered and/or rectified as smoothly and as quickly as possible
  • Act as the liaison for all retail employees, communicating on their behalf to all other departments such as HR, Health and Safety, Warehouse etc
  • Assist the Retail Support Manager and Retail Managing Director in any administration tasks
  • Plan conferences

In-store Support:

  • Assist on the creative for new store projects
  • Understanding of store design and ability to assist on several shop fits at the same time
  • Manage seasonal promotional calendar to include offers, brand installation windows, social media content, local marketing, and in-store events driven by new store openings, data capture and store action plans
  • Responsible for making sure VM guidelines and merchandising standards are being maintained
  • Create seasonal, ad hoc and store opening POS suites in a timely manner, keeping store complexities and quantities in mind
  • Identify any products requiring specific POS to promote key lines and ensure that they have imagery per season
  • Check on window images sent in by stores and feedback

Internal Management/Relationships:

  • Direct management of Retail Marketing Administrator including training and development
  • Direct management of the graphic designer provided by Impression and their workload
  • Maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers
  • Financial Management
  • Work with the rest of the management team to plan the annual marketing budget
  • Responsible for recording and delivering on the above

Health and Safety:

  • Assist in ensuring the stores operate in a safe manner, imposing minimal risk to both employees and customers
  • Support store maintenance and health and safety issues, ensuring all risks and hazards are rectified promptly
  • Assist in maintaining the company’s policies regarding Health and Safety

Experience required for the position of Retail Outlet Marketing Coordinator:

• Must be confident and outgoing with strong stakeholder management at a senior level

• Experience of negotiating with suppliers and monitoring cost on a regular basis

• Confidence and ability to interact with colleagues and suppliers

• Highly organised and efficient with a ‘can-do’ attitude

• Sees tasks through to completion

• Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative and without supervision

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Enthusiastic team player and ability to work with other colleagues in a dynamic and growing business

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and tasks

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products

• The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree e.g. marketing

• Minimum 3 years in house/client-side experience of retail marketing
