Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced skilled Book Keeper to record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for posting information to accounting software and reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy. This is a small office environment of a highly successful business and require a Book Keeper on a part time basis to handle the management accounts etc

Responsibilities of the role of Part Time Book Keeper

  • Record day to day financial transactions
  • Maintain the sales day book and purchase day book
  • Help to maintain a bespoke stock system
  • Reconciliations of intercompany transactions and accounts
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts including foreign currency and factoring
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and PAYE reports to HMRC
  • Prepare ¼ management reports and KPI’s for the board
  • Prepare year end information to the trial balance stage
  • General office duties including filing, answer the phone and preparation of post and parcels

Requirements of the role of Part Time Book Keeper:

  • Proven book keeping experience , able to work on own initiative and without direction
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of Sage Line 50 accounts or Zero would be preferred.
  • MS Excel, Word & Outlook knowledge is essential
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Part Time role, 2 days a week , hours and days to suit
