Our client is looking to recruit a New Business Development Manager to take responsibility for assigned new business and to meet these revenue targets

It is believed that these targets will be met by cultivating existing customer opportunities whilst winning/developing new customers

This is expected to be an internal position with client visits as appropriate

The ideal candidate will be self motivated and have a real hands-on approach, building exceptional relationships with existing clients, develop an understanding of key decisions made by customers to maximise opportunities

Role and Responsibilities for the position of New Business Development Manager:

  • To develop our business by improving the delivery of sustainable growth and customer loyalty through effective account development, plus identifying and converting the huge sales potential within market segments
  • To map the industry and main players in the customer base, including new customers, and scope opportunities for the business
  • Planning of UK territory & calls to maximise sales potential of the assigned accounts to achieve departmental sales targets
  • Develop multi-level contacts with customers’ buying teams and other related functions
  • Effectively promote the business and develop specific value propositions & case studies to secure new business
  • Develop and strengthen existing partnerships with new and existing key accounts to maximise new opportunities and drive sales and profitability
  • Drive commercial engagements with new business leads ensuring that all opportunities are maximised and quantified
  • Develop and execute a planned business development strategy
  • CRM Management – develop and maximise database potential
  • Interact with key stakeholders across the business
  • Completing tenders and delivering high value client sales pitches

Experience and skills required for the position of New Business Development Manager

  • 2+yrs field based sales development experience, within B2B FMCG Product background
  • Or experience of working in a key sales role within a retail led /FMCG environment with strong industry experience and the skills to apply this to a business development role
  • Strategic sales leadership with a track record of meeting ambitious sales growth targets
  • Demonstrable experience of working with core KPIs and targets to surpass revenue targets
  • Able to deliver the company values and secure business based on the added value these bring to the clients
  • Proven ability in converting and developing national accounts, standard accounts and telemarketing opportunities
  • Experience of utilising business development tools including LinkedIn & data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills enabling identification of sales development opportunities
  • Knowledge of utilising and developing CRM systems
