Our client is a hugely successful and well established suppliers of textile products and is looking for a Merchandising Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of textile production methods as well as experience in an import, warehousing or other relevant wholesale environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Line manage one full time merchandiser with responsibility for a key customer’s stock holding.
Plan, control and manage stock levels of a designated design portfolio, to meet the stock requirements of the business while maximising sales.
Oversee departmental KPI’s and mentor team in achieving targets.
Analyse customer sales performance against estimates on behalf of the team and suggest corrective action where required.
Proactive issue resolution with internal stakeholders (warehousing, sales, design).
Forecast sales trends using modern analysis techniques and creative thinking.
Place and administer purchase orders on the IT system with our international supplier base.
Create, amend and critically appraise internal and external reports.
Key Skills and Experience
Line management experience.
Experience in an import, warehousing or relevant wholesale environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and relevant experience.
Analytically minded with good common sense.
Understanding of ERP systems.
Understanding of textile production methods
