Our client is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to work closely with their Finance Manager to support all accounts functions within this expanding global business

Aside from the general accounts and finance functions including compliance and reporting, the finance team provides support to colleagues in non-finance disciplines such as marketing, publishing and other support functions including legal, HR, IT etc so this is an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate, to add real value to the finance team’s operations and the successful candidate will have exposure to lots of different areas of the accounting function, enabling them to develop and hone their accounting and commercial skills.

The finance team is a key component of the business and no day is the same! It is their hope that the new Finance Assistant will grow & develop with the business and will benefit from the opportunities that the business can offer to progress their career.

Key Responsibilities for the position of Finance Assistant:

  • Processing of transactions for European entities including invoicing, banking and expenses
  • Reconcile company multi-currency bank accounts, credit card statements and expenses
  • Preparation of month end information including maintenance and reconciliation of ledgers and balance sheets
  • Manage accounts payable and perform weekly payment runs, dealing with payment queries
  • Assist with the production of operational business performance reporting for the core business disciplines
  • Filing of returns including VAT
  • Provide support to finance team projects including the implementation of new accounting software

Ideal candidate for the position of Finance Assistant:

  • 1-2 years experience in an accounts function
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise and strong problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Workday Financials desirable
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
