Job Description

Our client is a UK manufacturing business looking to expand its sales and marketing team. This business sells both into UK and overseas to a variety of industries and market places making it a very interesting customer base, with opportunities to develop both existing relationships as well as new markets and customer bespoke products.

The role has come about due to expansion and is based at their Head Office; the ideal candidate will have a mix of both sales/business development and marketing experience

The role and the ideal individual:

  • You will be a confident, energetic with a positive attitude with the ability to prospect for new business
  • To explore many areas of business in the UK in pursuit of prospects and ultimately, sales
  • To become an integral member of the Sales and Marketing team, help develop and plan sales strategy and business direction, building relationships with customers and new prospects
  • Research new markets and potential customers
  • Make initial contact with potential customers through email, telephone and sending out of brochures and other marketing material
  • Occasionally promoting stock offers to existing customers
  • Using Google etc to identify potential new users and/or markets
  • Put together a database of contact details
  • Using WordPress to update the website with news and new products
  • Using DTP for producing catalogues, flyers and mailshots

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ideally experience of working in a sales office and dealing with buyers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good PC skills with CRM database experience
  • An operational knowledge of WordPress for updating the company website
  • A sound understanding of marketing skills and capability of desktop publishing design for catalogues, flyers, mailshots etc
  • Motivated, results driven and a good team player
  • Professional telephone manner and successful appointment record
  • High standard of education, ideally ‘A’ level standard education or equivalent
