This role would suit either a Marketing Graduate ( or similar) with a desire to work in a product environment or a science/medical graduate ( or similar) looking for a commercial marketing position where they are able to utilise their medical/science knowledge in a commercial environment

This position is responsible for supporting the whole range of products across the UK and Irish Republic.

The role

The newly created position of Associate Product manager will report to the National Marketing Manager.

It will be office based significant travel (sometimes overnight and occasionally international) will be required.

The Associate Product Manager will work through a staged induction programme covering all areas of marketing and product management activity. Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, but with help from other members of the Leadership Team, all the critical skills and work requirements of healthcare product management will be trained and then practised. This will give a platform for progression to Product Manager Status. The final movement to a full time marketing role may require a period of sales experience or territory management beforehand to give direct experience of this critical area.

The key areas of activity include:

A) Support for the organisation of clinical congresses and surgical technique workshops on a national and regional basis. This will involve identifying targets for recruitment from the CRM and making contact with customers via phone or face to face contact, as well as supporting sales team activity. There is also the need to carry out faculty and venue liaison and ensure the delivery of key materials such as scientific instruments for workshops. At the congress there is further delegate contact and activity to deliver the workshop/ congress and this is followed by the recording and management of delegate feedback. There is also a requirement to manage training and workshop materials on a daily basis and ensure their distribution to and return from events.

B) Qualitative market research supporting marketing campaigns. This involves liaison with the sales team and dental and surgical customers to assess the effectiveness of key messages and promotional activities.

C) There is further quantitative market research to generate estimates of market potential and future growth. This area also requires the monitoring of existing sales and providing breakdowns by product and at territory and individual account level from the CRM system

D) Customer targeting analysis using data from the CRM system and other external sources. This will generate target lists for E marketing and sales calling based around particular needs or products. It will also involve verifying and updating customer data within the CRM system.

E) Working with the National Marketing Manager, the role will require support for national marketing campaigns, initially in an administrative support role, moving into a more creative position with appropriate development. There is a need to manage the generation and approval of promotional literature following company guidelines and the ISO 9001/ SOP system. This also gives some scope for creative work and working with external advertising agency and printing partners. It also involves managing literature stocks.

Induction and Training

The company prides itself on the quality of the scientific training it provides to both its customers and its staff. The Associate Product Manager role would involve a full scientific training programme spread over the first 3 months of recruitment.

In addition to the scientific and product training there would be a comprehensive induction into the company processes and management systems such as the CRM system. This would enable the Associate Product Manager to carry out data entry, market research and other activities in an efficient way both within the UK Company and at an international level.
