Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit two people to strengthen his accounts team.

The more senior position will be to manage the department including 2 members of staff and to assist the Financial Manager all aspects of the accounting role and gain the knowledge and experience within the business to ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Department in the Managers absence, whilst the more junior role will be to work closely alongside them to assist as required

Role and Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger

  • Checking documentation and figures on all orders
  • Creating sales invoices from orders on IT system
  • Highlighting any discrepancies and resolving with appropriate member of staff
  • Statements ; sending out statements to customers on a regular and timely basis
  • Archiving

Purchase Ledger

  • Checking documentation and figures on all purchases
  • Entering purchase invoices onto purchase ledger on IT system
  • Highlighting any discrepancies and resolving with appropriate member of staff
  • Archiving

Petty Cash

  • Record and post transactions on IT system for company petty cash

Banking

  • Posting sales receipts to sales/nominal ledger to appropriate customer and control account
  • Resolving any issues regarding allocation of monies with customer
  • Banking of customer cheques
  • Raising and collecting petty cash monies
