The Registration Process

Here at Alexander Hancock, we are proud of the fact that we aren’t like any other agency out there. We put you at the forefront of the entire process from first contact to the end. We receive over 1000 CVs each week, in which we have selected yours to start the registration process with. Due to our strong relationships with our clients, they know they can trust us when we say a candidate is worth interviewing as we always take the time to really match you to the right vacancy, working off our client's requirements and your skill set and experience. We know the types of skills our clients are always looking for and this has resulted in us keeping a very loyal client base. If we don’t have a suitable role for you at the moment at which you apply, we will have at some point in the near future. We work to build strong trusting relationships with our clients and you. We hold face-to-face interviews to benefit both sides of the party.
Some people might say there are many benefits to a phone interview but we disagree. At Alexander Hancock we make a point out of meeting you in person as this is the best way to make an all-round first impression. You are much more than just a CV and by meeting with you we can ensure that we place you in the right job role with the right client. Many of our clients look to recruit attitude and train for skill as fitting into the team can be more important than your experience.
We will email or call you to ask you to make an appointment to come in and see us and we will confirm your appointment via email with directions to our offices. On arrival, we will take a copy of your documentation for our files (proof of ID/address/eligibility to work in the UK etc), and will ask you to complete a registration form. You will then be interviewed, face to face, by your consultant. This is a very informal relaxed interview. We understand an interview can be daunting and we will do our utmost to take the greatest care of you, make you feel welcome and spend time listening to your requirements. Please be as open and honest as you can especially with regards to why you are leaving your current role and what you are looking for in your next role. We will discuss all the roles we have that we feel you are suitable for, and then you can decide if you wish to apply for it. If you are not interested in a role, again, just be honest and say so as our sole aim is to find you the right role.
We ask for the names/addresses/email of 2 (preferably work based) referees. We apply for references at this stage of the process so that we have everything on file for when an offer is made, as this will speed up the offer process. We will not go to a current employer without your specific permission and you can ask us not to apply for any references until you have spoken to your referees. However having a great reference on our files for you strengthens your application when we send your CV to our clients, so please bear that in mind.
We get to work on getting you interviews for the roles that you are interested in and because we have met face to face we have a whole picture to outline to our clients. Once we have secured the interview for you, we will be on the phone immediately to organise it!
We do not search the sites for candidates, ALL candidates that we contact have applied for a role we have advertised. We do not call in candidates to waste their time, it only wastes our time too! We do not advertise roles that do not exist (that is actually illegal!) We do not put your CV forward without your permission
