Christmas Jumper Week for Save the Children

Wednesday, November 29th, 2017

So December 15th is Christmas Jumper Day for the Save the Children so we decided, here at Alexander Hancock, to invest in suitable attire and raise money for this amazing charity that works tirelessly to take children, both here in the UK and overseas, out of poverty.

Our staff will be dressed as Santa and his elves and we are looking to donate £2:50 to every candidate, new or existing, who comes into our offices resplendent in their own Christmas Jumpers during the week of Monday 11th to 15th December.

Some come on in, the wackier and the more outlandish the better and support this fabulous charity.. We will provide mince pies ,  help you find your new role for 2018 and raise some money.. what more could one ask for at Christmas?

Remembrance Sunday

Lest We Forget.

Poppies have adorned most people’s jackets over the past few weeks in the run up to Sunday’s Remembrance Day. But what exactly are we remembering? The fallen soldiers in WWI and WWII? Absolutely. They are the men and women who laid down their lives to protect and secure our futures, our democracy and for which we are all eternally grateful. The world may be a bit messy at the moment but it would have been a damn sight worse if Great Britain had lost those wars.

But we should also remember all those who have laid down their lives since then, and thank those who protect us still. Our current Armed Forces, who operate all over the world, protecting our interests and the lands and the people of other countries. They never question the politics involved. They never ask why? And they never say “no, sorry that is not my job”. These men and women put on their uniforms, wear the British flag on their jackets with pride and sit on the front line with honour, to keep our country and our people safe.

So not only Lest We Forget but also a Thank You for what we take for granted; democracy and the right to live in safety under their protection.

Girl Power at Alexander Hancock!

Tuesday, November 7th, 2017

As you are no doubt aware, the ladies at Alexander Hancock have had a busy year willingly facing various punishing challenges, all in aid of raising money for charities close to their hearts.

In June, Liz Hancock took part in the Summer Mighty Hike in the Lake District as part of a collective. Battling on in the blazing sunshine through rugged terrain for 25 miles! We are extremely proud to say that the total raised all together by Liz and many other brave participants, was a mind blowing £475,000 for McMillan Cancer Support.

Anneliese Alexander took to the dancefloor for a Strictly Dancing Challenge in October. This was in aid of preserving the future of the Maccabi Community Sports Centre and collectively raised £12,500, which is certain to make a huge difference.

Natalie Alexander bravely undertook the CEO Sleepout during Hurricane Ophelia and we are delighted to say, managed to raise £3,700 to help the homeless, who are particularly vulnerable now that the cold weather has set in. Earlier in the year, she also took part in a Greek walking venture across Santorini to raise money for Jewish Women’s Aid. Natalie amongst other participants, collectively raised £46,000!

Please join us in wishing these fantastic ladies a huge congratulations! We are tremendously proud of their achievements and we would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody that has contributed. You can expect more endeavours to ensue into the New Year…
